FORTEKOR™ is a trusted, once-daily oral ACE inhibitor containing benazepril hydrochloride, specifically for the treatment of heart failure in dogs and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in cats. It is also widely used in dogs with chronic renal insufficiency.

**Recommended Dosage (once daily with or without food)
- Dogs: 0.25-0.5 mg/kg body weight
- 5 mg tablets: dogs 5-20 kg
- 20 mg tablets: dogs 20-80 kg
- Cats: 0.5-1.0 mg/kg body weight
- FORTEKOR 5 mg typically used (can be divided for precise dosing in smaller cats)
Common Side Effects (generally rare and mild)
- Mild gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrheas, reduced appetite)
- Lethargy or transient hypotension (low blood pressure)
- Rarely, elevation of blood urea/creatinine (monitored by your vet)
Always use under veterinary supervision with regular monitoring of kidney values and blood pressure. Not for use in pregnant/lactating animals or cases of cardiac output failure due to aortic stenosis.
